We give priority to roads with high vehicle traffic.
In the event of weather and snow alerts, we activate all operations for the restoration of vehicle and pedestrian traffic as set out in the operational plan for the snow emergency. In cooperation with the Municipality of Milan, we define the type of operation and timing based on the forecast. We have a dedicated weather forecasting service to take timely action in the event of snow in Milan.
In the event of an emergency, snow clearing operations, using salt spreaders and snowploughs, as well as manual salt spreading and snow removal operations, take place in the following urban areas:
We give priority to roads with high vehicle traffic.
We take prompt action on roads that allow sensitive locations to be reached (hospitals, public transport sites, schools, etc.).
We clean the pavements in front of public buildings or buildings of public interest (hospitals, churches, ATM stops, etc.).
We take action to restore the areas designated for public markets.
We take action in the avenues of the city’s public parks and gardens, mainly in avenues leading to activities of public interest.
Depending on the weather conditions that occur, we act in different ways:
How and where we take action: We deploy salt spreaders in overpasses, subways and flyovers.
What you have to do: Spread anti-slip materials on pavements such as salt, sand or sawdust (*).
